RUST1:1 IRL propRust Retrowave Skin AK
About this piece
Retrowave AK: Rust's synthwave skin on the AK, in the 50cm short-stock build. Printed in PLA and hand-airbrushed in our Bavarian workshop, compact enough for a desk or a shelf.
The sun sets across the receiver
It reads less like a weapon than like a poster from 1984. A yellow-orange sun sits low on the side of the receiver, round and heavy, cut through by red bands. Behind it the ground is deep purple tipping into magenta at the edges, with neon pink lines running horizontally over the whole piece like the scan of an old screen. In front of the sun and up the magazine rise mountains drawn in cyan wireframe, thin-line triangles that carry on onto the barrel and the muzzle brake. Yellow comes back in small places: a band on the gas tube, the slots in the handguard, a ring at the muzzle. The magazine drops away into black at the bottom.
What the short build changes
In Rust it's officially the Assault Rifle (AR), though most players just say AK or AK-47. The short format leaves off the rear shoulder stock: total length comes down to 50cm, while the receiver, magazine and barrel keep the scale of the full-length version.
Hand-made in Bavaria
Every Retrowave AK is printed in PLA, airbrushed and sealed in our workshop. The magazine comes out and goes back in. On a desk, on a shelf or next to other compact AKs: official Rust merchandise built to last for years.
What players ask about the Retrowave AK
What is the Retrowave skin in Rust? An AK skin in eighties synthwave styling: a yellow sun over deep purple, neon pink scanlines and cyan wireframe mountains.
Can I take the magazine out? Yes, it slides out and goes back in. Handy for photos or for changing the display angle.
Why is this AK 50cm instead of 75cm? Because the rear stock isn't part of the build. Everything else keeps the scale of the full-length version, only the total length changes.

Frequently asked
Is this a functional firearm?
No. Every piece we make is a non-firing display prop. Nothing inside moves or fires, the barrel is not bored through, and there are no working parts. It is built to be looked at, not fired.
How long does shipping take?
Once shipped, Germany 1–3 days, the rest of Europe 3–7 days, and 7–14 days everywhere else. Tracked by the regional carrier depending on destination country.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship to 40+ countries from our workshop in Bavaria.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
14 days, no questions asked. Item must be returned in its original packaging. Customs on international returns are the buyer's responsibility.
How do I clean and care for it?
A microfiber cloth and a dry brush is all you need. Avoid solvents, alcohol-based cleaners and direct sunlight for long periods. Our matte sealer is robust but it's not invincible.
Can I commission a custom finish?
Absolutely. Drop into our Discord, open a ticket with your reference images, and we'll come back with a quote and timeline. No upfront fees for the quote.
