Your blank canvas: paint your own AK skin

This is the unpainted version of our short Rust AK prop, a blank base for your own paintjob. The smooth PLA surface takes acrylic paint cleanly, so you can recreate an in-game skin or invent your own. It comes in light grey, a neutral starting point: pale enough to take bright colours without a dark base showing through.

The short Rust AK, unpainted

The build is the same as on our painted short AKs, only bare: the Rust AK silhouette without the rear stock, at 50cm and so in a tighter footprint. In Rust it's officially the Assault Rifle (AR). What players ask about the short DIY AK

Is it painted? No, this is the unpainted DIY version: a bare PLA AK for you to put your own paintjob on.

What colour is it out of the box? Light grey, the natural colour of the PLA we print it in. It is not white, so if you are after a bright white finish, plan a coat of white paint first.

What paint should I use? Acrylic paints work best on the PLA surface. Recreate any in-game skin or design your own.

Why is it 50cm instead of 75cm? Because the rear stock is left off. The receiver, magazine and barrel keep their scale, only the total length drops to 50cm, and it fits a tighter space.
