RUST1:1 IRL propRust Tempered Skin AK
About this piece
Tempered AK: the heated-steel skin on Rust's AK, hand-painted as a 1:1 lifesize prop at the full 75cm. Printed in PLA and airbrushed in our Bavarian workshop, with the stock fitted, finished for display rather than play.
The colours steel takes when you heat it
Nothing on it stays one colour for long. Tempered is what happens to steel under heat, and the skin runs the whole scale. Magenta and violet sit at the stock, the receiver moves from red into orange into yellow and on to yellow-green, and the rings on the gas tube stop in that same yellow-green. The handguard runs the sequence again on its own, blue to violet to red to orange, while the barrel comes out of a deep blue and finishes orange at the muzzle. The magazine and the grip are the only parts left out of it, dark gunmetal with the edges brushed silver. Fine pale scratches cross the colour. A real bandage sits on the magazine and real tape at the back of the stock, both painted over like the rest.
The full AK, at 75cm
In Rust it's officially the Assault Rifle (AR), though most players just say AK or AK-47. This is the long build with the stock fitted, 75cm end to end. The detail is printed into the part.
Hand-made in Bavaria
Every Tempered AK is printed in PLA, airbrushed and sealed in our workshop. The magazine comes out and goes back in. On a desk, on a shelf or behind a stream: official Rust merchandise built to last for years.
What players ask about the Tempered AK
What is the Tempered skin in Rust? An AK skin that copies the colours heated steel takes on: violet and magenta at the stock, red, orange and yellow across the receiver, deep blue along the barrel. The magazine and grip stay dark metal.
Can I take the magazine out? Yes, it slides out and goes back in. Handy for photos or for changing the display angle.
How is it different from the Default AK? Same 75cm body, different paint. The Default shows the bare build; the Tempered runs the gradient over the whole piece and deliberately leaves the magazine and grip out of it.

Frequently asked
Is this a functional firearm?
No. Every piece we make is a non-firing display prop. Nothing inside moves or fires, the barrel is not bored through, and there are no working parts. It is built to be looked at, not fired.
How long does shipping take?
Once shipped, Germany 1–3 days, the rest of Europe 3–7 days, and 7–14 days everywhere else. Tracked by the regional carrier depending on destination country.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship to 40+ countries from our workshop in Bavaria.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
14 days, no questions asked. Item must be returned in its original packaging. Customs on international returns are the buyer's responsibility.
How do I clean and care for it?
A microfiber cloth and a dry brush is all you need. Avoid solvents, alcohol-based cleaners and direct sunlight for long periods. Our matte sealer is robust but it's not invincible.
Can I commission a custom finish?
Absolutely. Drop into our Discord, open a ticket with your reference images, and we'll come back with a quote and timeline. No upfront fees for the quote.
