Rust Comics Skin AK

Comics AK: Rust's comic-book AK skin, in the 50cm short-stock build. Printed in PLA and hand-airbrushed in our Bavarian workshop, with the rear stock left off, so it sits on a desk or a shelf without taking over.

Black, white and not one colour

The Comics skin does without colour entirely. The piece runs from white to silver-grey, and everything else is the black ink laid over it. A heavy outline follows every edge. Tight hatching covers the magazine, the grip and the handguard. The flat side panels carry a fine dot screen, the way printed paper does. And along the receiver, hand-lettered, it reads RA-TA-TA, with TA-TA below it, both with comic-book burst marks. Next to the selector, SAFE and FIRE are drawn in the same stroke. A comic panel that turned three-dimensional.

What the short build changes

In Rust it's officially the Assault Rifle (AR), though most players just say AK or AK-47. The short format leaves off the rear shoulder stock: total length comes down to 50cm, while the receiver, magazine and barrel keep the scale of the full-length version. The silhouette still reads; it simply needs less room.

Every Comics AK is printed in PLA, airbrushed and sealed in our workshop. The magazine comes out and goes back in. On a desk, on a shelf, or lined up with other compact AKs: official Rust merchandise built to last for years.

What players ask about the Comics AK

What is the Comics skin in Rust? An AK skin done entirely in black and white: ink lines, hatching and a dot screen, like a page out of a comic. No colour at all, it's all drawing.

Does it really say RA-TA-TA on it? Yes, on the side of the receiver, with TA-TA just below. It's painted on by hand, same as the SAFE and FIRE next to the selector.

Why is this AK 50cm instead of 75cm? Because the rear stock isn't part of the build. Everything else keeps the scale of the full-length version, only the total length changes.
